The weather was beautiful for the dog park today. Darwin, our German shepherd mix was so excited on the way there that he was "talking" up a storm in the car as we turned into the parking lot. In the photo above he is getting to know Nanook, the puppy shepherd on the bottom and Kotter, a beautiful standard poodle at the top.
Kotter was named after the character Kotter (Gabe Kaplan) in
Welcome Back Kotter. The owners said Kotter's curly hair was their inspiration. Too cute! Kotter is also a therapy dog who works with children. Very cool.
Kotter looks like a Muppet here, I think.
Darwin must be checking Nanook for fleas or something.
The chase begins.
They quickly wear out and Nanook has to rest for a while.
Darwin and Nanook like to wrestle.
Stella works up the courage to play a bit with Kotter. She runs a bit and then hides behind Maizie and Joe's legs. That little stinker.
Wow! Look at Kotter flying.
Stella gets brave and chases Kotter a bit.
This is a close up of what Stella looks like when the big dogs are chasing her. She loves it.
Gail was one of the few dogs I saw actually playing with this red ball. Stella just jumps over it and the others just stare at it.
Gail on the run for Darwin.
Darwin was getting a little upset with Stella here. Darwin likes to be on his own at the dog park. Of course Stella wants to be with him constantly.
